Synopsis: | Shukriya Life and death are two inseparable parts of
human life. Death is predetermined at the time of birth; but no one
knows when the cruel angel of death knocks at your door. What happens
when one is informed in advance about the time of his death?
"We are taught to be wary of strangers for they represent
the unknown. For Jindal (Anupam Kher), the arrival of a mysterious
stranger, in the form of Ricky (Aftab Shivdasani), will change his life
forever. But, 'forever' may not be such a long time for Ricky.
Shukriya is the story of Sanam (Shriya Saran), daughter of a tycoon,
Jindal who has made it big in London. Ricky is the man Sanam is madly in
love with.
The life-long dream of Jindal is the inauguration of a cancer
hospital in memory of his late mother. And his dream is only four days
away. And so is the imminent death in the family. Ricky finds out that
his life is now hanging in the balance.
Sanam chances upon this cruel truth - her dreams are shattered and
her world comes crumbling down. Ricky, for the first time in his life,
is enamored by Sanam's love. He is moved by the affection from Jindal
and his wife Sandhya (Rati Agnihotri) and other family members. It is
only when faced with the threat of death that Ricky, using words to
fight for his life, realizes just how sweet that life really is. He now
finds a new meaning in his life. Will the true love and human feeling
triumph over the cruel death?
Shukriya explores new dimensions of love and life, life and death and
meaning of life beyond the parameters of death. This one will keep
audiences on the edge of their seats, as Ricky's life vs death challenge
becomes an amplified version of their own human imperative: to
celebrate every second of life in all its dazzling riches, holding back
the dark that waits beyond. Will Life triumph over Death just this once?
