Horror aficionados major and gullu have been ‘spiritually’ connected with each other since childhood over their mutual love for trashy hindi horror films. Major (real name sherdil shergill) comes from a family of war veterans and was expected to join the army but the only war that he has a fought till date has been on video games. Gullu (real name galileo parthasarthy) comes from a family of valedictorians and his isro scientist father expected him to join the nasa but gullu is scared even at the thought of lighting a diwali firecracker rocket. Today, as major and gullu share their paid-for-by-parents bandra bachelor-pad, their life itself seems like an endless tribute to the horror genre. Constant family pressure forces them to make a really difficult choice - come up with a business idea that their fathers might like and invest in, or go back to their respective houses. Serendipitously, a freak encounter with an other-worldly character results in them being blessed with the power to see ghosts. That very night a female spirit comes to their house, introduces herself as ragini and offers a business deal to the two – “i will get into the bodies of people. You come and take me out. Fool-proof business idea.” the only catch – in return she will ask them for a favour in the future which they readily agree to honour. Now starts the adventures of team phone-bhoot where ragini enters into the bodies of corrupt politicians, rich builders and other criminals and major-gullu stylishly exorcise her out. As phone-bhoot flourishes by giving salvation to wandering souls, they are oblivious to the fact that their partnership had ruffled the feathers of atmaram, an evil dark lord, running a multi-crore crime-syndicate scam that uses wandering spirits as hitmen to kill people, on the false promise of giving them moksha/salvation. What lies ahead is a crazy battle between good and evil, laced with funny ghostly encounters and the bizarre outlandish ways in which team phone-bhoot comes out victorious |
